Alan Winstanley is a UK-based freelance writer in technology and the Internet, and has been involved in electronic project design, tutorials and features since a schoolboy in the 1970s. Many electronics hobbyists will know of his work in EPE (Everyday Practical Electronics) Magazine, the UK's No. 1 hobby electronics magazine which has published his work for decades. Alan has also held various positions in manufacturing industry in sales, product design and development and has gained much experience in many different aspects of business, marketing and commerce over the years.

He is also interested in macro and technical photography, gardening and horticulture and enjoys trekking on his mountain bike when the English weather permits.
